Prima Layout.

Just a quick post today,I've eventually finished the layout I started at Bromsgrove's Thursday crop which was over two weeks ago. I'm a slow scrapper but that's ridiculous, all I had to do was add a title and adhere a few flowers! I saw a LO on one of the Prima live shows that inspired me to do this page.

I used all Prima papers which were mostly scraps and all the Prima flowers started out white which I sprayed with Tattered Angel mists, the alpha's are Basic Grey.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend.

CCCB Week#15 - Garden Mail

Ros has set her very first challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog this week and what a fantastic job she's done, you can take a look at all her wonderful creations here. The challenge is called 'Garden Mail' and she's used a gorgeous photo from A Creative Mint for inspiration, you can use any colour from this photo and you must include something to do with mail.

Here's my card for the challenge:

The postcard paper was from the Shabby Chic paper pad I found at the bottom of my drawers the other day (I told you you'd be seeing more of it) and the green dotty DSP is from SU. The stamp is from from Crafty Individuals and I used Dusty Concord Distress Ink on the edge of the stamped image and all the papers.
This will be the last CCCB challenge I can do for three weeks as I'm off on my summer holidays even though I've got lots to do I really wanted to do this weeks challenge as I'm sure I couldn't go four weeks without joining in.
I've had a great day out today that I'd like to share with you,Paige and I went on the Severn Valley Steam Railway with Libby and the kids and met up with Rach in Bridgenorth,a quaint little market town. We sat in the Castle Grounds and had a fish and chip lunch, the kids had a good run around and climbed some trees.Lastly we had a look around all the lovely little gift shops in the town,a perfect day out for the summer holidays.

The Shabby Tea Room Week#20

Last night my friend asked if I could make her a Christening card for Sunday, when I was half way through making it I realised it was suitable for this week's challenge at The Shabby Tea Room. The challenge is called 1,2,3 which is ONE ribbon,TWO buttons and THREE punches/diecuts.

When I was looking for suitable papers I found a Me & My Big Ideas Vintage Shabby Chic paper pad which I'd forgotton that I'd got.The papers are gorgeous and you'll be seeing a lot more of them now I've rediscovered it,lol.
I cut out a large Nestie circle for the baby carriage and cut a quarter away to form the pram shape,I used a Martha Stewart punch to get the frilly edge on the hood.I added TWO Jenni Bowlin vintage buttons for the wheels and some lace to look like a vintage blanket. The other two diecuts are the scalloped square and straight square also cut from Nesties which makes THREE diecuts,I added a Websters Pages Vintage Sparkler to the ONE ribbon.

CCCB Week 14- Sketch Challenge

Linda has given us a sketch to follow for this week's challenge at the City Crafter Challenge Blog,it can be any colour and any theme.
I've had a design in my head all week for this challenge but just haven't had that much time to spend in my craft room.Today is the last day to enter this challenge I so got up this morning and before I did anything else I made the card that's been in my head for the last 6 days!
The dressmakers pattern paper is from Making Memories Vintage Findings which I sewed around the edge, all the other papers are Cosmo Cricket Material Girl.I used my Nesties to cut the scalloped squares and straight edge squares and added some Jenni Bowlin buttons. The tape measure is Material Girl PP which I cut out and rolled to give the look of a real one.

The vintage cotton reel was a free download from Craft Stamper Magazine, I stamped The Girls Paperie dressmakers dummy onto Material Girl PP and cut around and used foam pads to raise it off the card.

Sketch Inspiration #132

Here's last week's sketch from Sketch Inspiration. It's a multi photo sketch which I really like because I only tend to use one photo otherwise.

I used the July Scrapagogo kit for this LO which is called Village Fete. It's a great kit with lots of pretty vintage papers, stickers and flags. I flipped the sketch so I could use these photo's and made the flower using Nesties

When I went on Sketch Inspirations last night to look at the new sketch,on my comment wall there were messages saying 'congrats on your win' when I looked on the homepage I had won this week.I am so thrilled that they liked my LO and I've won a fab kit from Simply Obsessed.!!!

Thank you for the Birthday wishes!

CCCB - Week#13 - English Rose.

Kirsty is hosting this week's challenge at City Crafter Challenge Blog, she has taken us to a few different cities in Europe with different challenges and this week we're in London,England. The theme is red, white and blue and a rose which is optional.
In England it's Music Festival time with lots of them going on through the summer months and as our weather is sometimes a bit hit and miss a pair of wellies is a must have if your going to one.So in full English traditition my card has a pair of wellies on the front,I haven't put a rose on the card but some rose-ettes if that counts!!!

I made the rosettes with some Jenni Bowlin crepe paper ribbon and the wellie stamp was from Papermania Summer Bloom stamp set.

Thanks for stopping by!

Last Minute Card !!!

My husband and I have been married 22 years today (more than half my life!!!) and the last couple of years he hasn't sent me a card,so this year I thought I won't make one as I was pushed for time.I walked downstairs this morning and guess what,he'd sent me a card! I was out all morning so when I got back I came straight up to my craft room to make him a card before he comes home.

I used the Cuttlebug emboss and cut folder again using kraft card and inked with Vintage Photo Distress Ink.I added some BG Scarlett Letter paterned paper behind the frame and then used a Nestie to cut a heart from kraft card.

Well I can honestly say I have never made Xmas cards so early before but over at The Shabby Tea Room the challenge is to make a card or project with a Xmas theme.
While I had my box of Xmas goodies out I thought I might as well do a few cards before it went back into the garage until  November!

Just a quick post today as it's Bromsgrove Crop tonight and need to get my stash together.I always say I'll be more organised and just take what I need but it never happens.Hopefully I will get a LO finished tonight and will post soon.

My Weekend and a Sketch!

Monday's here again, the weekends seem to go so quick! We had a lovely weekend at Brean,my Mom and Dad took the caravan down for a week,so we decided to go down and join them for the weekend and shatter their peace. We just had a lazy couple of days lying on the beach, reading and soaking up the sun.

We stopped in The Old Rectory Hotel in Brean,it is a quaint old house with a beautiful cottage garden.Sunday morning was very warm and sunny so we ate our breakfast out in the hotel garden,we could have been in the Mediterranean it was so idyllic. A perfect weekend!

Here's last week's sketch from Sketch Inspiration:

Yeah,I can use flags again,I'm just loving them at the moment.

I used Cosmo Cricket 'Early Bird' papers and the dressmakers dummy is from The Girls Paperie 'Paper Girl' stamp set that I stamped onto some patterned paper and cut out.

City Crafter Challenge Blog Week#12

Well,we are still enjoying the warm weather here in the U.K. which is very unusal to have such a long run of good weather, oops I hope I haven't just jinxed it! This week Cheryl is the hostess over at City Crafter Challenge Blog and she has choose to celebrate summer with this weeks theme 'Some Like It Hot'. So the challenge is to create a summer themed project and use the colour red.
Here's my summer card:

The Tilda stamp I used was the very first Magnolia stamp I bought,I coloured her in using Distress Inks,I always use Antique Linen for her skin and Tattered Rose for her rosy cheeks.I decided to give her blonde hair so used Scattered Straw and her swimming costume and bows were coloured in using Spun Sugar and Worn Lipstick.I cut her out so she could sit on the frame but stamped her legs and the water lines directly on to the card so it looked like she was dangling her feet in the water and used Tumbled Glass and Stormy Sky
I used my Nesties to cut out the red scalloped square and cream square then used a dotty embossing folder on the cream card and distressed it using Antique Linen, the red paper is Cosmo Cricket 'Material Girl'.The 'celebrate sunshine' and the flags are from the Dear Lizzy clear stamp set by American Crafts, the great thing about clear stamps is that you can shape them to how you want, which is how I got the curved flags.
I'm off to pack now,we're going to make the most of the weather and go to the seaside for the weekend.Hope the weather stays nice so we can go on the beach and because Paige hasn't got a friend coming this time I'm going to have to go on the fairground rides with her,I'll just close my eyes and scream!

Have a great weekend!

The Shabby Tea Room #17

This week's hostess at The Shabby Tea Room is Audrey and she has choosen embossing for this week's challenge. You could either use heat or dry embossing,I choose to use dry embossing as on Monday I bought one of the new Cuttlebug cut and emboss folder and was itching to use it.
In my previous post I mentioned the photo card that I was struggling with, well I have eventually finished it,thanks for the advice that was given.I think I found it harder to do than other cards because I wanted it to be extra special because it's going overseas to my daughter's friends boyfriend who's serving in the Forces.Faye asked me to put the photo on the card as it was taken the last time he was on leave.I had some great advice off Lisa who gave me plenty of ideas on what to put on a masculine card.I did try stars first which looked great but decided on the hearts as it was a sweetheart card.
I used some blue patterned paper for the background of the card I inked and machine sewed around it (the sewing isn't very clear on the photo).I used the Cuttlebug Brocade Window cut and emboss,it's great to use, when you've embossed there's a flap of plastic you can lift up so you can ink the raised embossed part while still in the folder, genius! I inked mine with Tin Holtz Distress Inks in Tumbled Glass and Vintage Photo,I think the two colours work so well together.I put a piece of PP behind the frame and added the photo. The metal frame and Adore ticket are both from Tim Holtz,it's quite a simple card but thought that's all it really needed as I wanted the photo to be the main focal point.

I hope they both like what I've done and even though I struggled I really enjoyed making it because it is such a special card with a special meaning. My thoughts are with everyone in the Forces who are doing such great job and their families because I know how much Faye worries and misses her special man.
